Short Term mission trips are a wonderful way to explore God’s calling – to get some hands-on experience and invest some of your summer or vacation time in eternal things. Short Term missions are also a fantastic way to prayerfully assess whether or not you’re suited for extended or long term missions by getting out there on the field and doing the work mission workers do, especially when you’re at a stage of life where going for a longer term isn’t possible.
For church leaders, the process for sending a short term worker or team is much less complex than sending someone for a longer period. The finances are simpler (typically just a flat amount that must be available to cover airfare and other expenses) and even the sending itself can, and should, be done by and through the local church itself as the sending “agent” (provided the local church is a registered charity with the CRA). MSC Canada can help you send your short term worker or team by helping you to connect with mission workers who are already on the field, as well as providing logistical support and advice as necessary.
