Gerald (Jerry): At 14 years old I finally heard the gospel for the first time. It was the day that I had determined to commit suicide. Apart from Christ, life was hopeless. I devoured the Bible, reading from Genesis to Romans in 3 months. After reading Romans 5, I clearly saw myself, ungodly and an enemy of God. There, talking with 2 godly men I was saved.
Marilyn: I heard the gospel very young and simply trusted Him at a very young age. In the simplicity of my faith, I grew and sought to serve Him.
How did God call you to Service? Gerald: My first desire as I prayed on the way home after getting saved was to see other French speaking people saved. I immediately began witnessing and studying the Bible with the street people. Eventually with the travelling preaching, visitation, etc I had to give up my business. I couldn’t keep both activities up.
Marilyn: Our days were filled with visitation, witnessing, helping and raising our children. I found I had no time to work outside of the home because of all the Lord had given us to do.
Together we sought what we should do. There was an opening in French Guiana with the Gygers, but the doors closed. We had gone to Quebec for Marilyn to learn French, and me to refresh my French. Since we have no further direction, with the refreshed commendation of the assembly, we stayed in Quebec, and laboured as we could locally in visitation, teaching, encouraging, witnessing, etc. , making disciples. We have laboured with the deaf (QSL not ASL). We still have some contact with them, especially a disciple who have moved to Russia and doing far more than we could ever do. We aslo are in ministering to Ukrainians since the war started. And, of course we support local assemblies.
