For The Child Foster Care

For the Child Foster Care Programme (FTC), a project of MSC, is a private foster care programme in Jamaica for children who are currently living in children’s group homes. The program is administered by Family Life Ministries in partnership with the Child Protection and Family Services Agency (CPFSA) of the Government of Jamaica and Nairn Family Homes in Ontario, Canada.

The mission of FTC is to demonstrate the compassion and love of God to children in State Care by providing safe, nurturing, loving and supportive Christian homes in which they will thrive and grow. In achieving this mission, the FTC seeks to:

  • Recruit and train mature, loving foster families who have the capacity to nurture children in need of care.
  • Place children currently in Children’s Homes with loving families.
  • Provide psychological assessments and educational support for children; and monthly financial support, training and counselling support for foster families.

Since its launch in March 2019, FTC has placed more than 30 children within loving families, where their wholistic welfare is being monitored and supported for maximum impact. The value of this programme and its impact is steadily being realized as its reach extends island-wide.
