Komeza Life is a project of MSC in Rwanda led by Serge & Jennifer Kamari and team. In the local Kinyarwanda language, Komeza means “to empower, to strengthen, to continue.” We envision a Rwanda where all people – including the most vulnerable – can experience holistic life transformation.
Komeza Life is dedicated to the holistic and sustainable transformation of people through education, mentoring, and leadership development modeled after Jesus. We believe that success looks different for each person, so cultivating relationships is at the heart of what we do. Our mission is to encourage, empower and equip everyone with whom we journey so they’re enabled to fully live the life they were created for.
Komeza Life leads a community development project in Gitagata, Bugesera (one of the poorest communities in the country). Our entry point into the community is Early Childhood Education. This allows our team to have intentional relationships with the community leaders and the parents of each of our students. We know and believe that a community is changed one child / home at a time through education. This gives everyone an opportunity to respond to the gospel and to be discipled in the ways of Jesus.
Komeza Life also runs a year-long Leadership Institute in partnership with OneRock International. Each cohort has about 24 participants who journey through spiritual formation – seeking out their God-given gifts & passions, developing their leadership skills, and being challenged to always be missional. The participants are young Rwandans who love Jesus and desire to be part of Rwanda’s development. They are entrepreneurs, ministry leaders, organization directors – people who have influence in their spheres. Each participant also has a mentor for the year-long institute.
Komeza Life is also involved in other initiatives, including care of refugees and orphans. But the Early Childhood Education and the Leadership Institute are our two main ministries.
