To plan and prepare Jonathan has a lot of travel lined up between January and March, for various training events and conferences. It is frustratingly difficult to plan and prepare for things that may not happen due to increasing restrictions as Europe grapples with rising infection rates and the Omicron variant. Immigrants Immigrants represent incredible opportunities for the Gospel as Paris attracts people from all over the world. A German couple, formerly serving in Senegal, came to Paris to assist the local church and to work among the West Africans. Please pray for blessings. Read more
A busy time At the bookshop, there has been an increase in activity, especially with calendar season in full swing. We have also been asked to provide a bookstand at a couple of special weekend events between now and Christmas. All in all, it promises to be a busy time! Please pray for energy and good health. 1-2 months Scott’s physician, after reviewing his latest tests, said that the cancer has spread throughout his body. Scott was given 1-2 months. He remains in hospital where they are doing what they can to keep him comfortable. He has little appetite. His kidneys and heart function continue to deteriorate. Your prayers are appreciated. Impervious to the truth of the Gospel Folks that I see regularly at our Bible stand in the market remain impervious to the truth of the Gospel. However, it is the Spirit who gives life, so I leave that operation in His Holy hands. Please continue praying, as Bibles have been going out along with other literature. Read more
A church plant Lord willing, we would like to move to a neighbourhood to support a church plant. The summer of 2023 would be a good target for such a move. This will give all of us time to see how God is leading and to prepare for what’s next. Please pray with us for discernment. Read more
A Bible verse and a selfie As part of a treasure hunt in the city, the youth group from our church would pass by the bookshop. More grounded in their faith We sent up several boxes of books and Bibles to the Christian centre where a camp was being held for young adults, combining Bible teaching with sporting activities. We were quite amazed at how many books were sold and now we pray that the young folks will indeed use them to become more grounded in their faith. Read more
A community center There’s a community center just down the street from us. Sylvie has participated in 3 groups (painting, choir, gym) that allowed her to get to know people from the area. This gives her many opportunities to demonstrate Christ’s love in word and deed. Read more
