A life-threatening situation

Please join us in praying for Richard & Marina Haverkamp, who served the Lord for many years in Belgium. Richard had an MRI of a known abdominal aorta aneurysm, and the cardiologist phoned to say that the aneurysm had grown since January. His family doctor has assured him that this is a life-threatening situation and that he will not be able to care for his wife Marina after surgery.
Richard writes: “This Thursday, August 11, I’m having a CT scan, and the doctors will decide what kind of operation they will do. On August 29, there will be a follow-up and a date for surgery will be set. However, if the CT scan shows the aneurysm is still getting larger, they may do surgery sooner. Please pray that the aneurysm won’t rupture. Local Health Integration Network is working on finding a place for Marina to stay. Pray that the right place may be found, possibly with a Long-Term Care section and an assisted living section, so that maybe in time to come I could move in there and we would be in the same building. There are long waiting lists, but Marina is on the crisis list as this is an emergency due to my upcoming surgery. We really need the Lord’s intervention.”
