When the priest of our local town, situated 7km away, suggested that we use our village church to further the Gospel and our mayor entrusted us with a key, we grasped the opportunity.
Knowing how many hikers wander through our hamlet, which is situated on a major trail, we decided to open the church’s doors, thus encouraging people to enter. People love to take a look inside old village churches, most of which remain locked and disused. We placed a pile of Bibles near the entrance, inviting people to take one. We ordered the Bibles from a Swiss mission that publishes an attractive edition called The Mountain Bible, geared to hikers, with introductory testimonies sharing the impact of the Scriptures on the lives of hikers and mountaineers. Pray for fruit.
