Morning Star Children’s Home is located 10 miles of Chiclayo where we do some of our shopping. The town is called Pueblo Nuevo, Ferreñafe. As of last night, Ferreñafe was quarantined completely. No one is allowed in or out of town at all. Most of the fresh fruit and produce is brought daily from Chiclayo and that is now no longer happening. This means that when we went this morning to do the weekly shopping, we found nothing. We had previously stocked up on non-perishables, and so we have a couple of weeks worth of dry goods and protein. Of course there is an additional layer of difficulty under the present circumstances to plan, program, and execute activities for the children, not to mention staff schedules and interactions with governing authorities. With all this in mind, we are thankful that we can turn to the Lord for wisdom and guidance each day and continue to show His love not only to the 17 children we have in our care but also to the surrounding community.
