‘Tea and Prayer Room’

Please pray for the new ‘Tea and Prayer Room’ that we are starting up in the center of Grenoble. We are opening it up with a piano recital and prayer for this ministry. Pray for people to be willing to help as servers for the clients, and as part of the prayer team, as we reach out to the needy…

Mentoring

Pray for my preparations to teach the children, and for my mentoring a sister before I move back to Canada. One of my goals is to pass on the experience and knowledge and train up teachers for working with children. Pray that we would both be encouraged!

A visible presence

We thank God that He has allowed us to live in the neighborhood where we worship and serve with an assembly where most of the members live within walking distance. We long to see many churches in Paris with a visible presence in the neighborhoods where they meet.

Catherine Hanks with the Lord

Catherine Hanks was a long-time mission worker among French-speaking people in Northern Ontario, Quebec and France along with her husband Bob. On Tuesday morning, Catherine was returning home after the Ladies' Bible Study at Rossland Ridge Bible Chapel in Ajax, Ontario, when her car was broadsided by a pick-up truck. We are all shocked and grieved at the news that…

Different church experience

The Christmas service at church was a particularly blessed time. Many unbelievers came and heard the Gospel including three ladies from my monthly English class. They seemed very pleased to be there and certainly found it completely different to any church experience they had ever had before. Please keep praying for them.

Creative solutions needed

Please do continue to pray for God's provision of extra team members this trimester for our Mondays MCPA Senior's Home meetings. The person who I planned to come next Monday, the 14th, cannot come, and also has said that he cannot come more than once a month. Please pray for wisdom to know what to do for next week's meeting…

So appreciative

We see our foreign students once a week for a meal plus study, then once a month for an outing. They are so appreciative of the time we invest in them. To our knowledge, only one of them is a believer at this point. Yet, they are open to the Gospel and willing to learn.

Our need continues

Our need to find a suitable practical couple to serve with us continues. Daniel and Dora, our co-workers for the last three years, returned to their home in Belgium in early November and we do not yet have anyone to replace them. This seriously limits our effectiveness and prevents us from functioning as we usually do. We have come to…

2019 calendars

The special events around the 15th anniversary of the bookshop went well. At the moment, extra space has been reserved for the 2019 calendars. These have a Bible verse and short meditation for each day in the year. As we sell them, we pray for God's blessing on His Word.

15th birthday

We are celebrating our bookshop's fifteenth birthday! This is a pretext to draw in both Christians and non-Christians. We have been inviting the neighbours and the people who come in to collect their parcels from our pick-up service. A free Gospel is given to each person.

We need the new space

We had a great first official church service for our new assembly, L'Église de Grenoble Est. We are not able to have services in our rented space until we have approval from safety officials, so we had our service at the Student Ministry House on campus. We had a great turnout including several invited contacts! It looks like we will…

Divorce support group

Catherine has a burden for people having gone through divorce. She started a support group with a few members last year that went well. It is a good opportunity to meet people who are suffering and to open a window of hope through the Gospel.
