Crocodiles There have been some deaths due to crocodiles recently, and with that, deaths and accusations of witchcraft. A young elder from the assembly in Mpidi was gunned down, accused of being the witch who caused one of the deaths by crocodile. Many people are returning to their cultural ways and beliefs. A village We will go to a village 8 kilometers away to do some door to door outreach. A few weeks ago, Lois visited the Sunday school of the assembly in that village and was pleased to hear a number of the children say their memory verses. This is the first year that assembly has had a Sunday school. Pray for them. Read more
Girls’ camp Over the Easter weekend we had the first girls' camp of the season. Over 150 young ladies attended. The Gospel was clearly presented each day. God willing there will be five more camps during the next couple of months. Prayer for these times will be appreciated. Read more
Antenatal clinics Antenatal clinics in two villages are held monthly and the young women always welcome the contact. They all receive a gospel tract, a booklet or a calendar with a verse on it. First Parent Teachers Association The first Parent Teachers Association meeting was held at Kayombo Boarding School. This school has entered its third year of being under church management. Infertile land This year we've reduced the casual help in the fields, which has necessitated us to be there fulltime. We are managing three acres by hand and would appreciate your prayers that we diligently keep our hands on the plow, physically and spiritually. Using agriculture as a medium to communicate the Gospel is viable here as the land is so infertile. Read more
Captive audience I have a good team of workers at Sakeji school, but I rely on casual help for other chores. We hire about 15 young men to do that. Between them and my regular workers, there is a captive audience every morning for devotions. Pray for them. Most would say that they are saved, but their lifestyles say differently. Read more
Waiting by the roadside At the end of our village visitation last week, we had a great opportunity with 15 or so young men waiting by the roadside, who were very receptive to the message of the 'Two Roads and Two Destinies' diagram. They had some good questions. We pray that the Lord will work in their hearts. Read more
Ample opportunities Keith has been given a Grade 10 class to teach Religious Education this year. He had a Grade 11 class last year and was discouraged by the lack of response. This new group seems to be much more focused and willing to participate. Teaching this course provides ample opportunities to bring the Gospel to the students. Read more
Saved? One of our staff members, having worked at the Chitokoloki hospital for 16 years, was killed when a branch of a tree fell and smashed his skull. The saddest thing is that there was no known confession of Christ as his Saviour. Pray for the family and other unsaved staff members. Read more
Gospels of Mark We received the Gospels of Mark printed from our newest Bible translation. These are lovely booklets so we were able to give the hospital half of the supply that arrived. Each person who came to buy eggs was given a Gospel of Mark in their own language. Read more
