Heidi has been discharged

[Currently in USA] via Heidi's Husband Jeff Witte - Heidi has been discharged from inpatient rehab. A friend that has a lovely house on a lake outside of Omaha is allowing us to stay there for a few days. This will hopefully help Heidi adjust to being out of the hospital and allow her to rest and continue processing what has happened…

A light in the area

I [Leslie] now work at a doctor’s office. More importantly I, along with all the rest of the staff, have wonderful opportunities to talk about my faith and pray with people. God is using us to be a light in the area and people are noticing! Most locals would never have contact with a church and have never heard the…

Missing pieces

The most significant missing pieces of our ministry during COVID-19 have been the gospel choir and worship band. We have not been able to hold any concerts since September, but a member wrote a COVID song for our band, and we were able to record it. It has been played on Latvian Christian radio and is available on YouTube.

Traditions

Austria is full of traditions. Today, people here don’t really celebrate the coming of Jesus, but the coming of presents. We have friends of other faiths who have Christmas trees and also exchange presents. Pray for us, that we can break through the dark traditions here and bring the great news of what this season really means.

Update on ‘The Journey’

The Journey weekend was challenging and motivating. Thank you for praying for us. We experienced the Lord as He gave insight and wisdom about how to address stories. It is a privilege to comfort each other in group. Most people went home with a sense of hope, looking forward to meeting again on November 6-8. Like most countries, Austria and…

The Journey

Please pray for us as we start The Journey on Friday. The Journey is our ministry with wounded people. They have suffered all sorts and kinds of abuse in their childhood. We find it the most satisfying ministry we have for believers here. We have 9 people taking part. All have wounds that we want to address. Some of our people are facing anxieties…

To use our time well

For people like ourselves who usually have their lives scheduled 2 years in advance, this has been a time of learning to be flexible. Pray that we would use our time well and that we would keep looking for the doors God opens up to us. We have had some unusually good times with several of our neighbors lately, and…
