First event of its kind In late November, we held an event for troubled youth in northern Nicaragua, in coordination with several Government Ministries and also the National Police. About 90 youth, ranging from 13 to 30 years of age, attended both days. HURRICANE IOTA Via Mitch Parent - The destruction in Puerto Cabezas, Nicaragua and Puerto Lempira, Honduras was severe as Hurricane Iota made landfall as a Category 5, with winds up to 260 kilometers an hour. Financial help during the pandemic Mitch started meeting with people who do work around our house, involved in groundskeeping, maintenance, deliveries, or security. Most are believers and this work helps them financially during the pandemic. We pray that the Lord will use it for salvation of one of the workers and for the strengthening of the others, who are already believers. Read more
An investment of time and energy Providing employment opens doors to sharing the Gospel. It reaches into families and communities. In anticipation of increasing need, we planted a few acres of beans near our home. As we watch the beans grow, we are reminded of the Gospel and spiritual growth - an investment of time and energy with a future reward. Please pray for blessings. Read more
Not in the original syllabus Please remember the believers in prayer. One brother is still in Honduras at the Discipleship Camp. Honduras is still under lockdown and the students have not had any time off nor have they been able to participate in previously scheduled activities. Further challenges We passed out packages of food to the believers. The grocery stores are still well stocked, but prices are rising. We anticipate further economic challenges in the months ahead as the pandemic and resulting world economic downturn continues. Something real and worthwhile Before the pandemic, a few people began to attend the meetings and we pray that the Spirit will work in their lives.
