Abandonment

We received the official declaration of abandonment for a group of five siblings. We consider this to be the best option for them. Sadly, the absent father has appealed the judge's decision and this could stall the process for a long time. Please pray.

A few options

We are praying about how to best reach the people in our neighbourhood. We are thinking about starting an afterschool program, a kids' Bible club, and/or a youth drop-in centre. Pray that the Lord will give us wisdom.

Pray for the first Peruvian short-term missions team of the year that we are helping to coordinate. It will be in Constructores, Lima, and will be taking place over Easter weekend. Last year the teams were canceled because of flooding. Pray for the Lord to send people to help with visits, open air teaching, and kids activities.

Gone up to five

The orphanage board and our staff approved our director's request to add a second child from the orphanage to his family. Our director and his wife are the only couple living on site and see their presence there as an opportunity to work in the lives of the neediest children. This has a grave impact on the homeless children here, for while Peruvians do adopt, foreign adoption accounts for almost half of the children. Today there are approximately 15,000 Peruvian minors who can only dream about having a family. Pray that these…

Timely provision

We thank the Lord for bringing a new psychologist to the orphanage family. The state requires that we have a full-time psychologist in the institution. Our last psychologist, who served nearly five years with us, resigned at the end of September. We immediately begged the Lord to provide a mature believer to fill that position. In His grace, the Lord…
