Annual picnic

Spring has begun in Peru, and it was an appropriate time for Strong Tower Christian School's annual picnic. The event was held at the local sports complex in town. The entire school was divided up into teams and students and their families engaged in friendly competitions. After lunch, we had a meeting for the parents while the children were entertained…

How great is our God!

At a Missions Congress in Colombia, Peter and his colleagues were amazed to learn that hundreds of missionary trainees in Mexico are preparing to go to the unreached tribes of Mexico and Peru. Others, training in Chile, could possibly come to Peru too. For years we have been asking the Lord that He raise up missionaries to take His Word…

Discernment needed

Pray for discernment to know the right time to receive more kids at Hogar de Esperanza Orphanage. The state has tapped in twice hoping we'd receive the kids they had in mind for us. Upon careful inquiries, we found out that we'd be risking the integrity of all the kids already under our care, so, with heavy hearts we said…

To minimize the gap

Two teachers at Strong Tower Christian School informed us that they will no longer be with us in 2018. To minimize the gap between income and overhead, we have devised a schedule that will allow us to shoulder the curriculum load dividing the class hours amongst the remaining staff without hiring replacements or raising tuitions as the local economy cannot…

Tribal research

Pray for our tribal research. New developments in the unreached tribes of Peru make it necessary that we update the information on these tribes. There is also a great need in some tribes that have weak churches, because some of them are closing down for lack of missionaries. A coworker will make a couple of research trips this year in…

We did some marriage counseling this week. One is an old marriage where there is the struggle of learning to trust again. Pray for them. Also, a young couple came as they decided to get married. Pray for this young couple as culture is not their friend, but it is exciting to watch them take the right approach.

Encouraged

Our church celebrated its 14th anniversary in June. We are encouraged by all of the people interested in hearing the Gospel and studying one on one. Three people were baptized. Hearing everyone's stories we could see how the Lord draws people to himself in many ways and meets them where they are at. Pray that we would continue to grow…

Contacts

The volunteers in our assembly worked non-stop to help people affected by the floods in this region. Now that the rains have ceased and school is back in session, we no longer have a large pool of volunteers to continue with our relief efforts. Still, we want to creatively come to those in need, so we ask you to pray…

A pretty bad accident

Whily was in a pretty bad accident on his way to Chilete. He, Rosa, Mario and Gregoria were headed down the mountain to celebrate the church anniversary in Chilete. It was sunny all day in Cajamarca and when they were in the most dangerous part of the drive, they were caught in a huge downpour with lots of hail. Someone…
