Similar miracle

Before the summer we asked prayer for a financial need of $100,000 for us to be able to go ahead with the purchase of the building for our training centre and student outreach. About 70% of this has been given, which is a huge encouragement to us! But shortly after, the owner backed away from the sales agreement, fearing that…

Bold witnesses

We are still in the midst of terrorist attacks in France. Until now, they concentrated on Paris, but this summer 85 people were killed in Nice. The question we ask is, 'Will this make people more open to the Gospel?' Pray that we will be bold witnesses.

Issues in their lives

We have spent considerable time with a few individuals who are struggling with various issues in their lives (Christian or not). It is a privilege to open the Word and share from there how the Lord can be relevant in all life's circumstances. Pray for receptive hearts.

Please pray for protection

We just heard that at Calais, where a huge camp of migrants is located the building of an Evangelical church was burned. The pastor of that church is very active in bringing the Gospel message to many of these refugees. Another church too, was burned in Manosque in South of France in May. The fire was started with bibles at…

To “enlarge the territory”

We seek to “enlarge the territory” here in a spiritual sense. The seed of the Word of God is being sown and watered, and is indeed bearing fruit, but sadly, the harvest in this secular society is still very small in proportion to all the planning and effort going into outreach. Opposition is increasing.

Spiritual gifts

I am constantly encouraging women to use their spiritual gifts. I have been pleased to see some of them willing to accept the challenge. I am also training several women to help me in the area of counselling and pastoral care. It is a big answer to prayer because there are great needs among the women.

Our main priority project is keeping in touch with seekers and contacts of the…

Freedom

We still enjoy freedom here and our small evangelistic team is able to go out to the public square to distribute literature and engage in conversations with loiterers about our faith. We never cease to be amazed by the openness we find and the readiness to discuss spiritual matters and receive Christian literature, especially among young people. We return home…

‘Pastors in Transition’

Please allow us to share with you a specific project that is close to our hearts. In June, a very helpful book written by Glenn Taylor, who was Jonathan's colleague and supervisor at the Missionary Health Institute in Toronto, was translated into French on the topic of dealing with the challenges of moving from one ministry to another. All missionary…

Bookshop outreaches

The bookshop will remain open most of the summer. Pray for the ongoing work there, both in the service to believers and also as an outreach to seekers and even to those who think all they are looking for is the parcel we stored for them in our parcel service.
