Three youth camps

This summer Christine and I had the opportunity to be counselors at three youth camps. Sometimes we feel like the camps teach us more than we teach them. We pray that someday we will see these young people grow up to walk closely with God and serve Him.

A thrilling note

A young man who has been attending gospel meetings for the past few months, came daily to ask several questions about salvation. A thrilling note is that he has professed to be saved on Sunday night. Pray that he continues on well.

Arúmbaro

Pray for the work in Arúmbaro, where we have lost the majority of the children who attended our classes on Saturdays. The official religion began a competing kids’ activity to take them away. We continue with the small group of adults, and are encouraged with their growth and insight. Pray that the Lord would be at work in this village,…

Different neighbourhoods

The rent contract at the hall in Irapuato ended in May. Since the Lord has been leading us to invest more time in the believers from La Purísima, we did not renew it. In Irapuato, the work continues with one weekly Bible study in the homes of various contacts. We pray this will allow us to reach people in several…

A weeklong outreach

Around 140 people joined us for a weeklong outreach to the area of Ciudad Hidalgo. We offered gospels of John at every home in most of the surrounding towns and villages. Around 30 good contacts have indicated they would like to begin a Bible study with us. Please pray the Lord will show us how to go about fitting them…

How to help others

We have been asking God to teach us how to help the people of Mexico with their health. For years we have been studying and collecting equipment and medicines. We have a medical doctor who works with us. Please pray for wisdom as we seek to continue to share the Gospel of Jesus.

A men’s group

To encourage maturity in the church, we are starting a men’s group. We have several services during the week, but they are mostly attended by women. If, by God’s grace, we could reach the men, it could have a rippling effect on everyone in each family. Please pray for fruit.

Michoacán state fair

The Lord blessed us throughout the 3 weeks of ministry at the Michoacán state fair. One of the greatest encouragements was the opportunity to make wordless bracelets with around 800 kids, sharing the message of salvation with each one. Some parents sat down with the kids and seemed to be listening with all their heart. Please continue to pray for…

Common interests

Linda had the opportunity to reach out into our community. She wanted to teach a cooking and healthy diet class and open it up to neighbours. So many believers drift away from their unsaved neighbours and friends as the years go by. We pray that by helping them with common interests we can re-open those avenues of friendship.

We pray for fruit

We continue to visit a rather unkempt and generally unevangelized neighbourhood, to distribute gospel calendars and tracts with address labels of our meeting times and place. This has been going on for more than 18 months. A weekly Bible and evangelistic study has been formed in that area and we pray for fruit.

Easter holidays

Easter holidays provide a great opportunity for vacation Bible classes. This year, we invested our time in La Purísima. This is an extremely religious village, so we were glad to see 59 people the first night. It was obvious there was a lot of opposition and the last day we had only twenty attendees. The students that came the last…

English-only speakers

Regarding our planned week of intense evangelistic outreach, Amor Divino, Operación Tuxpan from June 2-7, we were asked if non-Spanish speakers can help. We have had many people join us over the years who do not speak Spanish. They always have a Spanish-speaking team member nearby to help. If they don’t feel comfortable, they can help with meal prep or prayerfully accompany…
