COVID cases are again increasing

As lockdowns eased, a DVBS was held last month after it was postponed three times due to pandemic restrictions and a typhoon. It was attended by 70 kids. Please pray for these children and their families. COVID cases are again increasing in our area. Hospitals are full and do not have enough frontline staff.

Facing severe restrictions

Abundant Grace of God Maternity is facing severe restrictions due to rising COVID numbers again. We held 3 labor and delivery seminars during the summer, where we were able to share the Good News with the expecting mothers. Please pray the staff will stay healthy and encouraged in the Lord.

Memorize and recite Scriptures

A good number of children attended the VBS at Sitio Malalim. A group of teenagers also came, as they have shown interest in the activities. It was amazing how quickly they could memorize and recite Scriptures with actions! Pray these young souls will continue to have interest in spiritual things.

Rejected in many homes

Prior to the pandemic, we did home visits and were rejected in many homes. Now, some families are asking us to come to study the Word of God. Parents also want us to start kids’ clubs in their areas which we would gladly do if we had more teachers. There are still homes where we are not welcome. We pray…

Next month’s VBS

With the help of a dentistry student, we reached out to the children of a nearby village. About 36 kids were taught proper tooth brushing and hand washing. We thank God for their interest. Please pray that their enthusiasm will be the same when we hold next month’s daily VBS. Also pray for our preparation for this event.

Please pray for the safety of the clinic staff as well as our extended family living in the village of Bugnay. Teenage pregnancy

Three teenage girls joined the virtual ladies’ Bible study at Sitio Malalim. One of them recently gave birth to a baby boy. This is the second teenage pregnancy in the village during lockdown. Please pray for the youth here whose lives are severely impacted by the pandemic.

We pray for their salvation

Weekly Bible studies and memory verse time continue at Refuge of Hope shelter. The girls get a lot of joy from standing up and reciting their verses. They all pray now during meals and every evening before bed, something that they were very shy to do when they first arrived, but now happens naturally. We pray for their salvation.

Challenges

We had some challenges with daily power outages, heat, and Patrick’s computer breaking. We ordered a replacement part which solved the issue. This is the computer used for work on the Tagalog audio for King of Glory. Praise the Lord that it is running again!

This unusual season

Our summertime would normally be a busy season of ministry with the Christian Training Center full of students, the Wilderness Camp with young people from the mountain tribes, and VBS in rural villages. This has been the second year without activity. We pray that in this unusual season God would encourage His children.
