Added struggles

Please pray for Sharon Agnew and the ministry of Shepherd's Home. COVID has added to the struggles of running the Home and there is also a need for workers and competent staff to help in the work.

Schooling is difficult everywhere. Philippine public schools’ solution is to delay opening until October 5th. Faith International Academy began online last week, and Steve is finding ways to make Zoom classes spiritually profitable.

The first one in 4 months

We had a wonderful Bible Verse Memory Club last Saturday. The first one in 4 months amid COVID-19 restrictions. The Lord gave us 50 kids in attendance! They all went home with much needed school supplies. Please pray for the next one, on August 29th.

Sustainable solution to hunger

We distributed vegetable seeds to the villagers to start a sustainable solution to hunger in their own backyard. Also, three families opened their homes for Bible studies. Please pray for the seeds planted in backyards to nourish physical hunger, and also for the seeds planted in hearts to grow leading unto salvation.

High school students

The Lord has allowed us to return to the village. The pandemic has resulted in a group of high school students returning to their homes, unable to attend school. On our first night back into teaching we had a large group of young people show up, just in time for the review lesson. Praise the Lord for this new opportunity…

Distractions that eat the soul

Because of COVID-19 our high school students need phones, but the phones open access to so many distractions that eat the soul. School begins on August 24 so we are asking God for wisdom about ‘what, how, and who’ to help.

A mobile library

It’s been a long summer for the children and youth at Sitio Malalim. To break the boredom, we started a mobile library with books for different age groups. This became a bonding time, where youth would read to their younger siblings. We handed Emmaus courses and evangelism booklets to the adults to help them grow.

Transition

Please pray for our kids. The past 3 months they have had a wonderful time with friends who have also been in quarantine with us, and they've also had speedy internet to connect with family and friends. Zero confirmed cases

We thank the Lord for His protection over our village. There have been zero confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the vicinity. We are following the government's regulations in order to maintain their protection.

Salamat sa Dios

Around 7,450 pounds of rice was given to all the people of our village. We were thankful that we were allowed to use the Barangay Basketball Court, and the Lord also sent a cool breeze all day long. Empty handed

Enhanced community quarantine is strictly enforced by military personnel as the number of confirmed cases continue to rise. Procurement of goods for relief operations by private citizens has been a struggle because local government units are being prioritized. At one point, we came home frustrated and empty handed because supply is limited. Please pray for wisdom and patience.

Not hampered by the lockdown

While other ministries have been hampered by the lockdown, we are grateful to be able to continue ministering to the spiritual needs of the moms at Shepherd’s Home. We continue with daily devotions before breakfast, our weekly Bible study with daily readings and "church" time on Sundays when Danny and Vonnie Mejorada are able to join us.
