Especially vulnerable People are fleeing Venezuela, Bolivia and Ecuador into Perú as the situation is apparently much worse in those countries. There is a huge presence of Venezuelan’s here. People of all walks of life have fled with their children and a few bags. These refugees are especially vulnerable at this time. Pray the Lord would intervene. Read more
Short-term trip to villages Pete is using the internet to teach missions subjects to young people who desire to minister to native villages. The plan is to take some of them on a short-term missionary trip to visit a few of the Ashaninka villages in late July and hope that by then the pandemic will have ended. Wisdom and guidance Morning Star Children’s Home is located 10 miles of Chiclayo where we do some of our shopping. The town is called Pueblo Nuevo, Ferreñafe. Daily Vacation Bible School Summer in Pueblo Nuevo always includes a two-week Daily Vacation Bible School. All the children from Morning Star take part. About 100 kids come in from the surrounding community and it’s an excellent opportunity to share the Gospel with them as well as make contact with parents. Read more
Short trips to the jungle The ministry of taking young people to a tribal village in the jungle for an introductory cross-cultural missions’ experience will continue. Waiting list Finishing work is underway at Morning Star Children’s Home on the new bathroom on the first floor where, once completed, it will be a dorm for 6-8 more children. There is a waiting list at the family court for these new spots. We are looking forward to ministering to the precious children He will send our way. Read more

A challenging year For several years in Tarapoto, a one-year resident Bible School has operated under the direction of Jesse and Janelle Mattix. We have been full since the beginning of the year, sometimes stretching our resources and every departure is quickly replaced with someone new.
